About
Blake Simpson

Hi, I’m Blake Simpson, a student-athlete, author, and lifelong hockey player who believes that every role, on the ice and in life, matters.
I started skating when I was seven after going to my first professional hockey game with my family. I was instantly hooked. At first, I wanted to be the player scoring all the goals, but an early coach helped me realize how important defense and teamwork really are. That lesson changed how I saw the game, and it inspired me to write my first book, Every Position Counts.
It’s the first in The OSR Series™ (Own it. Support it. Respect it.), which I created to help young players understand that hockey isn’t just about winning, it’s about effort, respect, and learning to support your teammates.
When I’m not on the ice, I love golfing, scuba diving, and finding new challenges that make me better. I recently earned my Advanced PADI Scuba Certification, which taught me a lot about focus, trust, and staying calm under pressure.
Through BarDownOSR.com and my book series, my goal is to encourage other kids to take pride in their effort, be great teammates, and always remember that every position, and every person, counts.
